Summary: A look at India’s homegrown fashion labels who are stepping up to combat the crisis arising due to the pandemic.

Section: Fashion – Fashion News

In the second wave of the unprecedented global health crisis, people and industries are coming together in support like never before. The fashion industry is also stepping up and doing its bit, from amplifying Covid-relief resources for oxygen, ICU beds, plasma, and other medical equipment on Instagram to donating up to 100% of sales to organisations that are tirelessly working on the ground to provide aid to the ones suffering.

The current situation is pushing fashion brands, big and small, to be more proactive, to offer support and to be part of a much larger conversation. With the pandemic giving us ample amount of time to indulge in online shopping experiences, fashion brands are using this to facilitate donations to help the country in these trying times.

Even though the pandemic has caused the world a huge deal of financial and personal loss, a number of homegrown fashion labels have stepped up to give their sales a purpose by actively making considerable contributions to covid-relief centres, aiming to provide the country the support it needs amid the pandemic. Recently, designers such as Studio Metallurgy, Shop Lune, Tanzire, Vedika M, The Jodi Life and Shop Mistry, to name but a few, actively raised funds for various organisations helping to alleviate the suffering arising in the Covid-19 crisis. And, even as we write this, many more in the fashion industry have ongoing efforts in place. We stand together, they say.
